Access & Availability

This slice is designed for public participation: prerendered America250 landing pages, quick Home contribution, map handoff, and optional quiz across modern browsers.

Access is broader than login. It includes who can reach the preview, how reliably prerendered routes resolve, and whether navigation remains usable across device and input modes.

Access Policy

Access policy centered on transparency, progressive enhancement, and browse-first availability.

No authentication gate and no account system in public V1.

Firebase-only runtime • no custom backend

Keyboard + focus states exist on every button and interactive chip; map markers are reachable via `button` elements.

ARIA labels accompany icon-only controls (zoom, reset, close), and hover-only tooltips fade in with gentle motion.

Future improvements: add meaningful `aria-live` announcements when filters change and detail panel opens.

Availability Notes

The page shell is shipped as static assets, but contribution, map brief, and quiz writes still require a live Firebase connection.

Navigator/hard-refresh on `/map` requires SPA fallback (`try_files … /index.html`) as noted in staging docs.

There is no role-based gating; users can contribute on Home, continue to map, and optionally complete quiz.

Need Help With Access?

For requests beyond the public Firebase-only web scope (for example legal review, retention exceptions, or moderation escalation), refer to governance docs under `docs/ops`.
